We are excited to announce the first official edition of "Varasoaia Open Days" - Padis - Aug 15 - Aug 23 2015, an annual speleological camp dedicated to Romania's deepest known cave system - "Varasoaia 653m deep" - in the heart of Romania’s picturesque Apuseni Mountains. A perfect opportunity for cavers to tour the cave and have fun.
This is the first edition in a long series of annual events, so don’t worry if you miss it this time, we'll be back around the same time next year. Keep an eye on our new website for updates and news - www.varasoaia.org
Terms and conditions:
- Cave trips will be organized in teams of 4-5 cavers one being a guide familiar with the cave.
- You must be an SRT certified caver by an internationally recognized organization in order to participate in our vertical cave trips. If you don't have such a thing, don’t worry, you can hang out around our camp, have fun with other team members - there will be other surface related project (surveys, cave entrance positioning).
- Please be sure you have a valid cave insurance since we will be checking this.
- Some caves like Cutilor, R2 and V5 have tight crawlways not recommended for super-sized cavers.
To participate in any cave trips, you are required to pay a flat fee of 10 Euros to PNAS. This is not something we charge and in fact it is required to access any caves managed by PNAS. You can make a payment on-site on the day of your arrival.
